" Megane now listens to reasoning. She has also learnt to pack toys willingly after play at home"

"I am delighted with Jonathan's progress at Playgroup. Being the youngest child in his class, I was rather conservative regarding his ability to settle down on his own among children that are physically more developed. But thankfully I must give credit to the perseverance, patience, support and encouragement of his teachers. The warmth of care and the comfort of the environment, probably helped him to settle down. Today, I am proud of his independence and emotional confidence to be on his own.

When Jonathan is asked if he likes school. He gives a big nod and says "Yes".  What more can I ask for?  For now, that is the best progress for me. I now look forward to reports of his development in speaking Mandarin. I think that is the next big milestone for him.

Ms Daphne Tham, parent of Jonathan Lee, Halifax

"When my little girl, Beverly, started at Pat's Schoolhouse, she did not understand a word of Mandarin, let alone speak the language. Within half a year, she was able to understand, speak Mandarin in sentences, recite Chinese nursery rhymes and even recognise some simple Chinese characters! This would not have been possible if not for her Chinese teacher. She has helped my child to learn and love her language."

Ms Chan Yen Ling, parent of Beverly Chan.

"After four months in Pat's Schoolhouse, Ann has made a tremendous improvement in her speech and writing skills but most importantly, she has adopted a positive attitude towards learning. My husband and I are very grateful for all the efforts that you and your teachers have put in. Thank you very much for your love and care for Ann."

" I was surprised one day, when Russell told me that he liked maths lessons very much (those who know him will understand my reaction)! He said maths was all fun and games! I know that it takes much effort to translate work and learning into educational games that kids enjoy. How I wish there was a primary school section at Pat's"

Chang Hui Sing, mother of Russell Vaz, Buckley

"I want to thank Ms Sally from the bottom of my heart, for her wonderful foresight in detecting that my son, Gregor had a problem. I greatly appreciate the time and effort that she spent with Gregor and also in surfing the net for information to help him. "

Ruby Gough, mother of Gregor Gough, Katong

"When we enrolled our daughter, Irene with Pat's Schoolhouse in January 2003, Irene was almost solely communicating in English and this was a cause of considerable anxiety for us. Hence, we were both surprised and delighted that by the end of the year, Irene had not only made considerable progress in building her foundation in Mandarin but more importantly, she was comfortable and happy with the language. Indeed, we found that she often chose to speak with us in Mandarin instead of English. "

Cheong Wing Hong and Ng Lay Hoon, parents of Irene Cheong, Halifax

"At home, Lee Shien proclaims herself an Australian (influence of Hi-5) who does not need to learn Chinese. I am not sure what Cao Lao Shi and Chen Lao Shi have done but they have managed to stoke her interest in Chinese after just 3 weeks. She now comes home and asks for Chinese words to copy!"

Mr and Mrs Lee, parents of Lee Shien, Ridgewood

"The Claymore Centre has been a wonderful loving second home to Jeanette. I thank Elsie (principal of Claymore centre)and all her teachers at the Centre who had taken the time, and quite often beyond the call of duty, to make Jeanette feel special and loved. I am sure Jeanette will always treasure her years at Pat’s School House.”

Yip Yoke Har, mother of Jeanette Chan, Claymore

"Rachel's years spent at Pat's Schoolhouse have been wonderful and we believe that she has enjoyed every day being at school. The attention and care given by her teachers have developed her into a confident young lady with an inquisitive mind that is always hungering for new things. We are sure that Rachel will always carry with her the memories of her early schooling years in Pat's Schoolhouse."

Christopher and Mun Ching, parents of Rachel & Rebekah, Claymore

"Last weekend, Jonathan was conversing with his grandpa in Mandarin at a family gathering. I noted that his vocabulary has improved alot. In the past, he would choose to reply in monosyllables or he would mix English with Mandarin. Hence, I was very happy to see him switching from English (when he was talking to his cousins) to Mandarin effortlessly.

He has also learnt to recognise a number of Chinese words from school. This has sparked his interest and often when we are in the car, he would ask me about the Chinese words which he notices in signboards or names of shops.

I have witnessed my friends' children, who like myself, are from predominantly English speaking environments, and they have developed a dislike for the Chinese language. Thus, I feel that this is a great achievement as his interest in learning Chinese has been kindled.

Please convery my thanks to his Chinese teachers. They have helped him to open the door to another culture."

Lynn Kow, mother of Jonathan Kow, Buckley
