Enriched Curriculum

Our Enriched Curriculum not only allows children extra exploration, discovery and fun for another 2 hours each day to enrich their knowledge, skills and talents, but also effectively reinforces the foundational learning blocks of our core curriculum. Although the latter is necessary for school success and ensures children master their 3R’s (Reading, wRiting & aRithmetic) as key to attaining higher scores, our enriched curriculum encourages their potential and creative talents, giving them confidence to display their knowledge and understanding of the world.

Since its introduction, parents have been delighted at the encyclopaedic knowledge their children are exposed to, and the creative and interactive ways topics are taught. Their children are also able to widen their experiences where they are most comfortable, amongst friends and teachers who know them best.

All Nursery, K1 and K2 children enrolled in our Extended Half-Day, Full-Day and Extended Full-Day Programmes, will experience and enjoy our comprehensive 5-in-1 Enriched Curriculum programme from 1 to 3 pm (Mondays to Fridays):

 

English Literature & Drama

  • This exciting class enhances language development and confidence in speech and drama, as children explore the wonderful world of literature through Folk Tales from around the world, Classic Stories, Fairytales and Character-Building Stories written by Patricia Koh.
  • The objective is to create opportunity for children to interact with each other as they explore text and interpret values behind stories, as well as help them understand themselves and the world around them.
 

Chinese Speech & Drama

  • Many generations ago, children would sit by the bedside of their elders, listening to stories passed down from generation to generation. These stories were either mythical or historical but in whatever form they took, they were warmly welcomed as they conveyed values that have passed the test of time.
  • The objective is to instil in children an understanding of Chinese history, values and culture. 
 

Creative Art & Cookery Experiences

  • Besides being therapeutic, both art and cookery are fun and engaging for children. In creative art, children will explore colours, design, visual expression, pictorial exploration and craft through individualised experiences, small group activities and large group projects. In cookery, children will explore the art of cooking and experience steaming, frying, boiling and baking.
