“I’ve realized that Art can be anywhere, any time, with any thing,” comments Catherine Goh as she saw for herself how bottle brushes, scour pads, leftover ribbon and flour were used to experience and create Art.
Learning that art develops a child’s ability to exercise curiosity, express emotions, write and speak, all 20 parents interacted over cookies, coffee and paint to understand how a child truly views art – with glee, an adventurous spirit and hands ready to be dirtied.
Lydia Tong reflects, “It was informative, fun and practical… it’s also interesting to learn that a structured art class can dampen a child’s creativity instead of growing it.”
Chong Lee Hian really enjoyed moving across the 4 Art Stations to have a hands-on go at Gadget Printing, Collage Making, Painting and Sculpting. “I learnt how to make my own play-dough! And I was fascinated by how merely rolling a paint-covered marble in a box could create such beautiful patterns.”
The Cookies & Coffee Workshops run once a month till November. Priced
